Chrysan Industries, Inc. was established in 1977 by Dr. Kook Wha Koh.  Dr. Koh was awarded several patents in metalworking fluid technology and formulated soluble oils, synthetic coolants, and stamping fluids for the automotive industry.  Since then Chrysan has diversified its product portfolio to include automotive & industrial lubricants, aerospace lubricants, cleaners, rust inhibitors, and other specialty chemicals.

Chrysan now has a global presence with facilities and distributors in North America, China, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, and South Africa.

History of Chrysan
In 1990, Chrysan expanded its operation to a new 30,000 sq. ft. facility in Plymouth, Michigan, including 5,000 sq. ft. of research and development laboratory. Chrysan now services customers around the globe with premium automotive lubricants and holds partnerships with several major oil companies from the U.S. Japan and Korea.

  • 1977: Founded by Dr. Kook-Wha Koh
  • 1980: Awarded Patent # 4,218,329 for Metalworking Fluid Technology
  • 1985: Awarded General Motors Corporation Supplier of the Year
  • 1990: Expanded into 20,000 ft2 manufacturing facility in Plymouth, Michigan
  • 1994: Established joint venture with Lusan Lubrication Technology in Shenyang, China
  • 1996: Expanded into 25,000 ft2 warehouse expansion at Plymouth, MI facility
  • 1996: Certified to ISO 9001 Quality Standard
  • 1999: Certified to ISO 14001 Environmental Standard
  • 2001: Awarded MMBDC Supplier of the Year
  • 2002: Certified to TS 16949 Quality Standard
  • 2004: Appointed Master Distributor for Nippon Oil - ENEOS
  • 2005: Awarded Ford Q1 Supplier
  • 2006: Awarded APACC Salute to Excellence
  • 2008: Awarded Corp! Magazine Best of Michigan
